I made a mistake in the campaign! My campaign signs were printed without the required “paid for by” disclaimer. This was an honest oversight—something that can happen in a grassroots campaign run by a small team and a first-time candidate—and I take full responsibility for it.
I have ordered stickers to add to all signs to ensure compliance with election rules. They should arrive in 1-2 weeks and then I’ll be out adding them to signs.
This is a great example of how even small details matter. What’s most important is how you respond: Do you take responsibility? Do you make it right? Do you learn from it?
I found out about this mistake about 24 hours ago. Between then and this afternoon I considered the following options (and why I didn’t chose it):
1. cricut? (too many letters/too difficult)
2. buy new signs? (too expensive)
3. label maker? (a good idea, could maybe borrow a label maker, is my backup plan)
4. print something at home? labels, stickers, I’ve done a variety of similar things before while crafting (wouldn’t last/not waterproof)
5. Order stickers? YES!
5a. Where to get stickers? Oh, let’s check out the site I am currently working on ordering my flyers from. They do stickers, sweet. Done.
Now, if the stickers I order don’t work for whatever reason, I’ll move on to a label maker idea or some other options I haven’t considered yet. I’ve been open about my donors in a previous post and I’m happy to answer any questions.
I believe in transparency, accountability, and doing things the right way—not just during a campaign, but in service to our community. That’s the kind of integrity I’ll bring to the school board if elected.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support!
